Office of Academic Education for Lamar County School District

Located in Purvis, Mississippi

Carolyn Adams, Assistant Superintendent of Education

The Lamar County School District is committed to its students to be successful in the 21st Century.  In addition to providing opportunities for basic and advanced content skills, schools have the responsibility to guide students in the development of many other skills needed in today's society and workplace: problem-solving, communication and collaboration, critical thinking, use of technology tools, self direction and initiative and creative thinking.

The Office of Academic Education (OAE) for Lamar County School District strives to provide support for all stakeholders in the education process.  It is through the support of administrators and teachers that our students are provided the best educational opportunities available.  Every support service that impacts student achievement is under the umbrella of the Office of Academic Education.  From making sure our administrators have what they need to carry out their responsibilities to making sure our district has the most highly qualified administrators and teachers possible, the Office of Academic Education works diligently for LCSD stakeholders.  Providing professional development for teachers and administrators is a major endeavor of the OAE.
