District NewspaperOGHS students earn top honors at science fair - Oak Grove High School excelled at the 2011 Regional and State Science and Engineering Fair. Melinda Solomon won Best of Fair and an opportunity to present her project titled “Testing the Toxicity of AH3 [Vo (sal-L-tryp) (W-Ethymethnon cartrio)] on Drosophila Melanogaster” at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Los Angeles, California, in May.


Farmweek Logo"Native trees" have advantages for homeowners and schools in Lamar County, MS - Mississippi’s Arbor Day happens each year on the second Friday in February. Many soil and water conservation districts in Mississippi are conducting programs to encourage homeowners to plant “native trees,” trees indigenous to the state.
